This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information when you use this website or engage us for financial advice.

2. Information we collect

We may collect personal information including your name, contact details, date of birth, financial position, employment details, tax residency status, superannuation and investment information, and information about your goals and objectives. Where relevant to providing financial advice to Australians living overseas, we may also collect information about your country of residence and visa or residency status.

3. How we collect information

We collect personal information directly from you — for example, through our website contact and enquiry forms, during meetings or calls (including via Zoom, phone or WhatsApp), and through documents you provide. We may also collect information from third parties such as your accountant, solicitor or other professional advisers, but only with your consent.

4. How we use your information

We use your personal information to provide financial advice and services, to comply with our obligations as an Australian Financial Services Licensee's representative (including "know your client" and anti-money laundering requirements), to communicate with you, and to improve our services. We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent.

5. Automated decision-making

We do not currently use automated decision-making to make decisions that significantly affect your rights or interests. If this changes, we will update this policy to explain the types of decisions involved, the information used, and how you can seek a review — consistent with disclosure obligations applying under the Privacy Act from 10 December 2026.

6. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your information to our licensee, AVALONfs (AFSL 437518), to product providers and platforms relevant to your advice, and to professional advisers you've authorised us to liaise with. We will not sell your personal information. Where information is stored or processed by service providers located overseas (for example, cloud-based file storage or practice management software), we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with the APPs.

7. Overseas clients

If you are an Australian living overseas, your personal information will generally still be handled in Australia in accordance with this policy. Where information needs to be sent to or accessed from an overseas location (including by you), we take reasonable steps to keep it secure.

8. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including through secure file storage, access controls and staff training.

9. Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). For complaints relating to financial advice more broadly, you may also contact the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) at afca.org.au.
